    Jet and Needle suggestions... please

I've got a '77 GS 750 and will be cleaning and rebuilding the carbs this winter. The bike now has K&N pods and a 4:1 exhaust. Also I live at 6000' and ride to almost 9000'. Can folks give me some suggestions as to where to start with jetting? Right now its all stock. Thanks!

Standard 15 pilot jet, raise the needles a 1/2 or maybe one notch, go with 110 to 115 main jets. Try the 115 first and work your way down. I have not tuned a 750 like yours at altitude but have tuned quite a few others with VM carbs at 6,000 ft. up to 14,000 ft. This should get you close enough to start but fine tuning will of course be necessary.

Life is too short to ride an L.
