So, should I just replace the whole sending unit in the tank or just the seal? Its a pain in the arse to keep emptying the tank to play with it.One and done is what I want.

You think it's a pain to drain the tank to fix a leak?

Imagine the pain of trying to dig through the rubble to see if anything in the house is salvageable when the house blows up.

Come on, draining the tank is almost basic maintenance stuff. If that is all that much of a pain, you probably don't need to be working on old bikes.
