Mikuni VM Fuel mixture screws (up close example)

I have been tearing my carbs apart on my 79' GS 1000 to find all the bad parts that need replacing. Obviously almost every O-ring is either cracked, brittle, or torn. All of my fuel mixture screws have some funky waves in the taper. Hard to see with the naked eye. I can feel the difference by running my fingernail down the taper. So I took this up close shot to show how badly these can be worn on our 30 year old bikes. Enjoy!!

They don't suffer from wear that causes anything to go wrong. The problems arise when they get broken and the tips snap off. Plus the worn o rings leak petrol of course.
