    carb rebuild

    Hi every one
started to rebuild / clean my bs / cv carbs and found that there were some things missing. needle valve seat filters was the main one .Are they needed ??? Pilot screw had been chewed up by the bloke i bought it from so i will have to replace it . There were no aluminum caps covering the pilot screws so i think they must have been removed and after market pilot screws fitted. the pilot screws are 27.5 mm long , the ome ones are 22 mm long . I think they will fit but will sit lower down the tube. Any thoughts would be great .

The filter screens aren't necessary. Some bikes had them and some didn't.

The aluminum caps over the idle mixture screws are also not necessary -- they're only there to keep consumers from tampering with the settings.
