I bought a 4 into 2 mac exhaust from a guy, and just now got around to installing it on my 82 GS1100G. Right side went on fine, I did have to make a mount bracket for the muffler but I knew that already. I was just able to get to the right side today and realized that the side stand (kickstand) mount bracket isn't long enough to clear the muffler. I will have a pick up tomorrow to give a visual. Anyone ever run into this. I did contact Mac and the rep said they don't make an exhaust for the GS1100G specifically, and I should try to find another exhaust, the rep sucked. Anyway, My question is should I try to find some 1/4 inch steel and make a whole new bracket or just re-position the stock one and weld it to the frame. There is plenty of clearance for a weld but is there any reason anyone can think of that may require me to take the side stand off in the future? Any suggestions?

I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address?
