wonder if anyone has an answer
I bought a 4 into 2 mac exhaust from a guy, and just now got around to installing it on my 82 GS1100G. Right side went on fine, I did have to make a mount bracket for the muffler but I knew that already. I was just able to get to the right side today and realized that the side stand (kickstand) mount bracket isn't long enough to clear the muffler. I will have a pick up tomorrow to give a visual. Anyone ever run into this. I did contact Mac and the rep said they don't make an exhaust for the GS1100G specifically, and I should try to find another exhaust, the rep sucked. Anyway, My question is should I try to find some 1/4 inch steel and make a whole new bracket or just re-position the stock one and weld it to the frame. There is plenty of clearance for a weld but is there any reason anyone can think of that may require me to take the side stand off in the future? Any suggestions?Tags: None
