    looking for a jet kit

Anyone know a decent ceap jet kit for a 81 450 that comes with everything you need... also how hard is it to put in

    #2
Did a google search on "gs450 jet kit" and this was first hit...http://www.starcycle-usa.com/servlet...i-GS450/Detail

You should also rebuild the carbs at the same time. Cycleorings.com sells a kit. Tutorial on how to rebuild on basscliff's website.

    Good luck

Hold up, that jet kit is for the '83 and onwards carbs and won't suit the 80 - 82 carbs at all unfortunately.

There's a Euro spec E3305 Dynojet kit stage 3 for the 80 - 82 carbs but that's about it. It's called the "External Main Jet" rather than "Standard Float" kit.

+1 on Cycle O Rings for the O ring kit.

If you for genuine Mikuni jets insead of the Dynojet kit, you will need the VM22/210 style pilot jets (although these have bleed holes down the side and the stock ones don't) and you'll need the N102.221 Small Round main jets.

Stock pilots are 17.5 and stock (US) mains are 115. The needle is a 4C2 (US) but I don't know if you'll be able to get a genuine Mikuni one as they don't seem to come that lean.

Which way are you going with this - with the airbox or with pods? I'm confused since you have one thread asking about fixing your airbox and this one with pods. Get the bike running correctly with the stock setup then start playing around.

Ed, all good, I've been through this frustration before...

Lorello, according to what I can see on Alpha Sports and Boulevard Suzuki the airbox boots are still available.

Boulevard lists them for $8.86 each and Alpha Sports $14.18 each. I still have my stock ones doing nothing but it would be cheaper for you to buy them locally than for me to ship them to you.

                  Right (4): 13882-44100

You can even replace the stock clamps for $2.99 each...

Do they not show the boots in the diagrams.. or are the number 4 5 the little circle things that are in the airbox. And come out about a centemeter or two

Yep, numbers 4 and 5 are the boots themselves. They only project out the front a little but expand out inside the airbox. Mine are a bit buried to get a pic otherwise I'd show you what I mean.

I thought there were tubes that are a few inches and have like a downbend in them that comes off the airbox into the carbs

Not that I'm aware of... there are the intake boots for the head which are around an inch in length, and then there are the airbox boots which protrude a little from the airbox but the boots go an inch or two inside the airbox and fan out from memory.

I would have to dig mine out to check but I won't get to do that for a little while at the moment...

Yea the ones that go inside of the airbox are in there cuz theres little plastic peices i can pull out a lil but they dont come out of the air box.. i looked up the part num.ber for the numbers in that diagram on ebay and it came up with a peice that looks kinda like a rubber tube about 2.5-3 inches thats tapered on both ends so im assuming its the part i need thanks man
