    1982 gs 1100e throttle cables

I have a 82 1100 and it has smoothbore carbs on it. I need new throttle cables and was just wondering if the stock ones will work with these carbs before I order them.

Do your current cables work/fit your throttle grip assembly ? In other words, do you have the right grip for the dual cable setup?

Stock GS1100E only has 1 cable, I would suggest looking for a set from a 79 GS1000 or something

Yeah the 1982 1100E only had a single throttle cable in stock form. If you have 2 then someone converted to a push-pull setup. Do the throttle cables go into a separate part from the normal one (plastic collar that has the engine shut off switch in it)?

Well the cables didn't fit my throttle housing that was on my bike. My guess is that the whole throttle grip, tube, housing and cables is all an aftermarket setup. The gs 1000 throttle housing is made into the starter, kill button switch.... Any idea if it would plug into the factory harness on my 82 1100? Or any other ideas on what I can do? I bought a throttle tube/grip off a 1100 that has a place for 2 cables and a Nos left hand grip I would really like to use when I get this thing figured out.
