Long story short I changed main jets and from this change an oil leak now occurs. Oil only leaks when engine is running. Not a drop when it's not running.

Changed jets and engine problems
Sorry I realized my first post wasn't very informative. Leak is from oil filter area.

OK, trying to get a few facts straight here, so I am paraphrasing, not quoting directly.
Installed K&N pods, ran rich with 105 mains.
I think the stock jets were 100 and you should go up 2-4 sizes with pods, so I don't think it should have been running rich.
I just put in 117.5s.
It was already running rich, so you went up another five jet sizes?
I adjusted idle and she sounded good.
Sorry, means nothing. You can remove the main jet or even plug it up, the bike will still IDLE just fine.
Then I noticed oil on the ground.
Changing carb jetting won't affect that at all.
Gas in the oil?
Only if one of your carbs overflowed and the overflow tube was plugged.

I suspect the oil is comming from the oil filter cover..yes? There is that oring in the cover and there is a copper crush washer on the sump drain plug.
I think your Oring is bad or possibly got slightly pinched and cut upon reinstalling the cover.
EDIT... I put a little Three Bond 1194 in the cover groove after a good cleaning. This holds the oring in the groove all the way around so it doesnt fall out and get pinched.Last edited by chuck hahn; 03-29-2013, 02:00 PM.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

With a little more information, advice can be given.
Your ONLY questions were "Any advice? Gas in the oil?". Even you will have to admit that they were rather vague.
And I did offer a suggestion on the second one.

Evidently the facts don't matter, so I am outta here.
ps. I think I remember trying to deal with the OP before, with similar results. I should have learned then.

And Steve, nothing you said made it seem like you were addressing my issue. More like pointing out how my post was riddled with irrelevance. I'll edit the post now.

I will totally admit to my first post being vague and uninformative. First morning fog and grouchiness.

I know that's why I'm so confused. I put well over 150 miles since I replaced filter and I touch the carbs and this happens. Just don't want to start her up to tune carbs.

Oil leak at filter?
Did you try checking the torque on the 3 acorn nuts?
Does your bike have an oil drain in the filter cover?
