    Throttle Problem

Hey everyone I have been looking for this subject for a while now. I have a 83 Suzuki GS 750 and I just got the bike running. The bike is fine but in first gear if I use the throttle fast it wants to stall on me.I was just wondering is this an adjustment with the carbs or what else can it be. when the bikes going its fine its just when you take off in the first fast it dies on me. Any ideas I'm new to bikes?

Is the bike stock or modified? Changes in the airbox or exhaust can cause problems like mentioned.

The bike is stock as of now i do have a Vance & Hines exhaust coming in though, it is not on the bike now. Where is this petkock, is that the thing on the side of the gas tank that has a nob on it?

You probably have a leaky air-box and/or exhaust. The jet needle will need shimmed.
You will have to rejet with the V&H pipe.

I believe you meant to say the V&H is useless with out a $100+ jet kit

You can do the pipe only without the jet kit but add pods into the equation then yes.
I ran a stock 1100 with a Kerker 4-1 with an 117.5 main jet up from a 107.5, removed airbox lid and shimmed the needle by removing the stock spacer over the jet needle and replacing it with three radio shack washers. That motor ran great with no flat spots.

I ran a 1000G with a V&H & inbox K&N. Jets I used were 5 over from memory, shimmed the needle up a bit. Ran fine (& continues to do so I've heard). Also adjusted the pilot screws obviously.

If the bike is stock I expect an air leak. If it was fuel supply you would get the same effect at high revs such as on the freeway etc...
