Greetings and Salutations!!
Hi Mr. terry1900z,
You would be surprised what a good cleaning and rebuild will do for a set of carbs. Get a set of carb O-rings, a gallon of carb dip, and follow the proper procedures (found in the links below).
All of the 1980 and later GS850G models use Mikuni BS32SS carbs. Other models used them too but the spacing may be different so you can usually use only the #1 and #4 carbs as replacements. It should not be too difficult to buy a set (sometimes called a "rack") from the eBay. Feel free to check the Parts Wanted and Parts for Sale sections of the forum. I think a rack of (1980+) GS750 carbs would fit but you would have to jet them properly. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

In what way are they past the rebuild stage? They really can't be permanently damaged simply by sitting, if that's what you're implying. Mine sat for well over 10 years, there are others that have sat longer and are fine. If that's all, try to give them a cleaning with some new o-rings like BassCliff says.
