Next question, I think I know the answer but do I need to buy a whole new one or can I just shove it back in there (I know you guys frown on these rebuilds)?

Stupid petcock question of the day
Ok, as I was removing the fuel line from the petcock, the brass looking part came out with it! I'm assuming this isn't supposed to happen?

Smear some JB Weld on the outer area being carful none gets in the inside. Stick it on the hole and give it a few seating taps with the end of a screwdriver. Remove whatever accumulates on the body as you reinsert the nipple. Let it sit overnight to harden.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.
I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
