    What air box is it??

Of course I'm new and apolgize for the previous thread without a title. I aquired a 1981 GS 850 a few weeks ago. There is currently a plastic air box with no markings on it with and no filter on the bike. The previous owner thought the air box was for a GS 1000. He had also purchased two more air boxes but one was a ripoff from e-bay that was gutted. The other is very nice but when I tried to put it on the boots were impossible to get onto the carbs. After some measuring the rip off airbox with what looks like original stamped susuki gs 750, 850 and 1000 measures 11.5" to the outside of the two outside holes. The plastic box is 11.75" and the nicer box measures 11.25. What should the right box should measure? Even more confusing is the boots that he collected, straight, offset right, offset left. Can someone help me??? The # stamped on the motor is GS 850 139753 Thanks for any help!!!

Well, let's see what an '81 GS850 AIRBOX is suppose to look like.

I just researched your year bike and see a similarity with the '78/750. Here is the thread I am talking about: http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...=207057&page=2

So, based upon this...I would suggest you compare this IPB to the actual AirBox you have. (I've referenced IPB definition in the thread)
Buy parts at a low price for your snowmobile here at Alpha Sports, we carry a LARGE variety of parts and accesories.

This one has a resevoir with an exit tube unlike the 1978 version.

I may have one for you. I have one off an 82 850. Doesn't fit my 750. Too big
