Are you sure about that? I posted a thread a few weeks ago here about a similar issue which no one replied to, but after lots more searching and making some calls I put an order in with Partzilla which included 13682-31210 'STARTER VALVE C --- CAP, CAP, STARTER', based on this parts diagram. My parts come in Monday, so I can let you know if what I ordered was correct.

will be interesting to see if they are correct, although even if they do fit your bike, they may not fit other GS models

The new parts turned out to be a mix; brass nut, but with the small plunger opening and cap.

So if you're looking for the larger caps, I don't know the part number, but the part numbers in my previous post work together at least. The inner diameter of the boot is the same for both, so they are interchangeable with either plunger shaft.

so just over $10 for a complete plunger nut assembly with brass nut,new boot and o ring.

sounds like a bargain to me..........

Is that rubber cap even neccessary? One was ruined on my 750 and I just left it off.

probably not, it is just a dust cap more than anything

One of my choke plunger nuts was broken, similar to missing the cap, and that plunger had some scoring on it from the dirt that got in there, and did not slide or return as smoothly. Short-term it's probably okay to run without a cap, but I've read of people having issues with one carb's choke plunger hanging and causing running issues, which is probably symptomatic of dirt making it past that cap seal.
