Replacing Choke/Throttle Cable

I apologize for the basic nature of this question however Ive had a hard time finding a procedure and like to be sure Im doing things correctly.

I recently had my carbs rebuilt and decided to replace both the choke and throttle cable upon reinstallation.

I bought suzuki replacement parts. I notice there is an adjustment at the carb and at the handle for the throttle and at the handle alone for the choke.

Can some one out line the procedure, i.e. choke position and throttle position upon installation. Where do you want to take up the slack to have future room to adjust.

Regarding both, i generally like to ensure that they have a very slight amount of freeplay when not in use (choke off, throttle closed). When setting up the throttle, be sure that the cable doesnt pull and cause the engine to rev when turning the handlebars to full lock either way. I had this problem when i changed to aftermarket handlebars. I usually take up most of the throttle slack up at the carb end, and save the top one for fine adjustments. Ive never adjusted my choke, and have had a broken choke handle for 2 years now, but i would think that as long as rod on the carbs is all the way in when not in use it should be good... Theres definitely more knowledgeable folks here who can better explain.
