Real questions are these. The bike has no air box at the moment and I would rather run pods. From what I gathered so far I should go up on the mains 3 sizes, so for a 750 that should be 120's since stock is 112.5. Would I also need to go up a size for the pilot as well or leave it stock? Also should I go ahead and get what a 750 carb should have as far as all the other jets? According to BikeCliff's charts nothing between the models I (may) have are the same as 750 carbs. Any insights would be appreciated.

Frankencarbs...750 T carbs
I bought what I thought were '81 GS850E carbs since the ones off my '82 750t were rusted solid. I am in the process of tearing them down for full rebuild. When I got the tops off, I noticed that there were 2 different sets of main jets in them. The outside carbs had 115's and the inside 2 had 107.5's. this leads me to believe that someone had put either inside carbs from an 1100 or a '83 650 in the rack judging by the jets. I could be wrong and a PO could have just been messing with jets. I need to clean off the other jets I pulled to be sure.

After looking over many parts fiches, it looks like my carbs are actually a set off an '80 or '81 1100e. The two outside carbs look to be the replacements that came off an 850. That would make more sense because the inside carbs are filthy on the inside compared to the outside ones. I plan on dipping these in Pinsol again to see if that will help free up some stubborn items. All the pilot jets do not want to come loose and I do not want to force them. I have all the other jets out but these. So frustrating! I have been walking away a lot!

1100E's take 34mm carbs, vs. 32mm for the 850.Ed
To measure is to know.

My mistake then, because they are 32's. I measured them to be sure when I received them. They just have me a little thrown at the moment. I'll know more after I clean off all the other jets to see what their markings say.

Finally looked at the jets I have removed. Looks like these are in fact 850 carbs. They all have the same pilot air jets (180) which would suggest by the chart that they are '82s, but there is no listing for an '81 so it could be that. But for some reason the po decided to use to different size main jets. I'm guessing this was to try and fix a mixture problem, but I've never heard of running different sized mains on a inline 4 rack. I have seen that on newer jap. v-twins though. So now to jet it correctly for a 750T with pods.
