Exhaust question...

Hey

New to bikes... Have a 82 GS400t. Have a exhaust that needs replacing.

2 questions.

The only parts bikes that seem to be available, are GS450s. Are the parts interchangeable?

Also, if I am simply replacing the exhaust with a non performance replacement part, do I have to rejet the carbs?

Most, but not all parts will be.

Also, if I am simply replacing the exhaust with a non performance replacement part, do I have to rejet the carbs?

If you're putting a stock exhaust back on it, I doubt any jetting changes will be necessary. To be sure, check the carb specs (jet sizes, etc) between yours and the donor bike. But I think you'll be OK.
