Cleaning carbs question
I have a 1980 gs 450l, I have the carbs apart currently, but before I dip them, the guide doesnt say so clearly. Do you leave the rubber diaphram on the carb body when you dip or not?Tags: None

Remove EVERYTHING from the carb body except the throttle butterfly.
Parts that need to go into the dip:
carb body
pilot fuel jet
pilot air jet
needle jet
main jet
float bowl
float needle
If the diaphragm covers are really dirty, soaking them will clean them up.
NOTE: if the covers or the float bowls have a factory 'polish' and clear coat, the clear coat WILL be removed in the dip.
No problem, that makes it easier to polish it yourself.
