    Exhaust leak check

While riding at night, I've noticed (what I'm assuming are) exhaust fumes rising up in front of my headlight.

Is this a symptom of an exhaust leak? My other guess would be an oil leak that's dropping on the pipes and burning, but things look pretty clean up there...

How can I isolate and identify the leak?

How can you see this if you're moving? Any smells when you stop?

Sorry, I can only see/smell it while stopped. I notice the smoke in front of the headlight more than a smell.

You are either losing coolant or oil. Your choice.
It is oil hitting the header pipe somewhere, perhaps even under the bike.

Sounds like I need to do the ol' foot powder test...

          or whatever that stuff is...

Talcum powder, which is what foot powder is.
