Are you talking about these?

No, I get the impression that he is trying to remove the two screws in the slide so he can remove the needle.
HC, you will need a VERY good-fitting (preferrably NEW) screwdriver, and it REALLY helps if it is the proper JIS driver, not a Phillips. If you can't find a JIS driver, a Pozi-Driv will work.

Also any ideas on what one should do if one should strip out the screw head with the LIMITED amount of space between slide wall and attachment housing

They do come out easily with a regular screw driver. They generally aren't frozen in there in the first place, so just remove them is my suggestion.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

The more damaged the head is, the better you need a driver to fit.

If you look in the "tools" area, you can find left-handed drill bits at Auto Zone, Advance Auto, Schucks, whatever you have close by. Usually a 5-piece set, it sells for about $10.
