Those sure don't look like my Kawisaki carbs. I have no idea what carbs those are, interesting. 'BigT' is right though, what ever they are they need cleaning to know if they're good or not. See if you can find any numbers on the sides of the carbs. Weird thing is #4 isn't even the same as #1. It's missing the protrusion where the air mixture screw would be but #1 has that protrusion....very strange indeed.

Really? You might want to use Preview Post to see why they are being rotated 90 degrees. Are you using PhotoBucket or some other picture hosting site?

found this on Kawasaki.org........... VM26SS with no air screws the same as the suzuki VM's. if you read way down in post #5 it says "The idle fuel/air screw adjusts the idle mixture."

Well there's yet another thing I did not know. VM's with one tuning screw, who knew. If you do take them apart measure them to know if they are 26mm or 28mm, most likely 26 but as someone says "to measure is to know".

What do you use for a camera?

If you use an iPhone or some other "smart" phone that has an "auto rotate" feature, that might be what is turning them.

I use a real camera, have never had any problems with picture rotation.

So when I bought the bike, the guy told me he just had the carbs rebuilt. he gave me another set with it. as far as I can tell, they're the exact same. here's photos of them, taken with a big boy camera not my iphone , I still see no air/fuel screw.

you can see the combined air/fuel screws in the 5th pic, at the bottom of the carbs

ok, on my current set that are on the bike, they're all in all the way. I was starting to loosen one and some fuel came out of the stem there at the bottom so I stopped.

you are undoing the drain screws, the air/fuel screws are further up at the front, just below the bowl mating surface

You're going to have to find out 'exactly' what carbs they are first, or rip them apart and start guessing at the "exact" size of the o-rings you need. Z1 enterprises has a decent inventory of Kawasaki carb stuff, and some good info on there about Kawi carbs. Did you ever find any numbers on the side of the bodies?
