For the guys running pods - Carb Brackets

I see a lot of guys running pods just have their carb boots supporting their carbs. What gives? Wouldn't that hurt the very hard to find boots over time? Making a bracket to hold the carb near the filters to the frame wouldn't be too hard. I just don't see anyone doing it.

Never seen anyone do it, nor have I heard of anyone having issues due to no support.
Even on bikes that have had pods for years, some since new.

Wow, that is really slick. I was going to go with some metal straps over the frame, but that is a beautiful solution.

Well now you have, I have ripped them almost in half they need support.
I use two zip ties to the frame rails to help support them.

.............................hi guys ...i,m running mikesxs pods on my xs650 modded have done for about 10 years and never had a problem,,, and now with the 1980 gs1000e in australia ,,i,m running the same sort and make of oval pods ,,because it was to much fighting to fit the airbox,,,, ,, i have cleaned all the carbys and in the next week or so hopefully i,ll fire it up and go for a ride regards oldgrumpy

Did you read Basscliff's post above you and the links he gave? In there are links to many dealers we use that still stock/get parts for our bikes. Trust me, OEM is the way to go and there are dealers that will work with you; just do the work yourself as many of them won't touch our bikes.

Don't just assume people don't do their research. I've been over Basscliff's links long before he posted in this thread. The closest I've found to carb boots for my bike is here but nothing for my model. As I've said before, I can only find used boots. But thanks for your non-constructive help.

It's non-constructive since you can't seem to post your bike information like we've asked everyone to do for just this reason. Knowing that information because you put it in your signature file would have helped me look at Boulevard's site and given you the link, price, and part number.

But hey, you don't want to help us by telling us more information than I won't bother to help you.


Of course, looking back over your previous posts I found you are riding a 450S....seems some research on one of the sites listed in Basscliff's mega welcome found this:
