    Jet needle question

I have stock BS32 carbs on my 82 GS850G and I have a question about lowering the jet needle. I do not have the adjustable needles and needed to know if putting washers under the spacer and above the retaining clip would lower (i.e. lean out) the carbs?

Also, I read that adding or subtracting two washers would raise, or lower, the needle one space when compared to the adjustable needle. Is that about right?

I am planning on buying the kit with adjustable needles, but wanted to test my midrange before I do.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I found this on some guy's website.

    Shimming The Needle

Adjust the thickness of the nylon spacer (using washers?) to raise or lower the needle.

For pictures, look on pages 63-64 of this guide: Mikuni BS(CV) Carburetor Rebuild Tutorial

    Thank you for your indulgence,
