    Spark problem

We thought we had a bad ignitor, found one, put it on and we had spark on each plug. Put the tank back on and one cylinder flooded and we lost all spark. We thought we fried the ignitor at first. We unhooked the battery and after we done this we got our spark back. Does the ignitor sense the excess fuel and shut down?

No, an ignitor is just electronic points for the ignition. It is a few transistors that do the switching job that the points used to handle.

    However, WE might shut down.
Presumably you are talking about a motorcycle, because you are on a motorcycle forum and mentioned "ignitor".
However, we have NO idea what bike you are talking about or what else you might have done, as this is your first post.

    By the way,

Put your bike/model/year in your signature - User CP stuff in top left of page.
Spark came back ?? good, are plug wires on correct plugs?
Is this bike new to you ? what recent maintenance has been done or not?

Please remove "CDI" from your GS vocabulary, it does not exist.

You have an IGNITOR with that part number.

Just because you might see that device called that on eBay does NOT mean that it's correct.
