Screw specs for airbox clamp? 81 650gl

My big oval airbox band clamp is missing its screw. I tried to put in one from one of the other clamps, but it didn't fit. Does it match any of the other screws off the other clamps?

Also, is there anything wrong with using standard new clamps? They are wider and don't fit into the channel that these narrow clamps do.

    Cheers!

(almost back on the road, just need to synch the carbs!)

    Anybody have a guess even?

I have gone through this before, and experienced the same thing. I don't think any of the other clamp screws work for it.

The wider clamps will tend to cut into the rubber...and also not seal it as well.

Hmm. All right. I should probably just pull it and take it to the hardware store.

You'll do better to just buy the correct ones from Suzuki - they aren't that expensive.

Agreed. These look chintzy. Where can new ones be bought? I lost one of the 4 that fit onto the airbox side boots. I'd be happy to just replace the one.

Except most fiches do not list that particular screw. I recall seeing it somewhere, once. CMNSL or Alpha Sports?

Haha, aw bummer. I bought a #6-32 sheet metal screw from the store yesterday. Not perfect, but it worked.

I love metric designations. SAE confuses the heck out of me.
