    1980 GS100E exhaust mod questions

    Hey,

Hope someone could help me out - I'm pondering how to get a tiny little more sound out of my stock pipes (I quite like the 4-2 pipes, not a fan of 4-1 looks). Wonder if I could achieve anything by fiddling around with baffles, or would that be too much?? Not sure if baffles can be somewhat altered inside the pipe, or just totally removed.. I would not want the exhaust too loud.
I heard of some guys drilling a small diameter hole in the bottom side of exhaust - would it be placed in a header or the muffler part?
    Any info appreciated.

    Thanks.

Don't do it. Had a bike where the idiot owner drilled into the baffles and it sounded like poo.

Yes the PO of my gs1000G drilled 4 -1/2 boles in the mufflers on the bike and I hate the sound of it . Sounds like what Ed say's "poo" and It was enough that I had to re jet also to make the bike run properly.Don't do it you will be sorry in the end. Want more sound change both mufflers, some guys are using Harley take offs. They can be had cheaply

Thanks for advice. I didn't consider changing mufflers only - but you're right - there are used harley's ones out there for quite cheap. I'll give that a shot.
        Cheers

tkent02 - I found some locally for about $50, hardly used - few styles to choose from. I think shipping alone from your place to mine would match that price. Thanks anyway.
