    Victory!!

Everything came together today. The carbs arrived from Chef1366 within two days, the Morgan Carbtune arrived on Monday and the tach drive and seals arrived today from Babbitt's. Everything went together and she's purring smoother then ever. Revs much faster as well.

Much thanks to Chef for a great job on the carbs. She started right up and idled with no choke within 20 seconds (use to take forever). The bench sync was so close it almost didn't need any adjustment. Now need to put her back together and take her for a spin.

Here's what my final setup looked like:

The fan melting was not an issue.

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

Uh, you don't need that fan that close. It would work better if it set out and angled in. I used two fans, that way the engine got an even flow of air around and through it.

Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

Took her out for a ride today and... WOW!!! Huge day and night difference. Pulls solid throughout the power band and no flat spots. Sounds like a singer sewing machine at idle. A slight amount of popping in the exhaust on deceleration, but nothing to be too concerned about. From the time I purchased her to now it's like a completely different ride. The only issue I see is that power is just a little twitchy right off idle. Probably operator error though.

Now it's onto getting the cosmetics cleaned up. The only fluids not changed is the brake and that's going to happen this Sunday. I guess it'll be time to start a new thread.

The popping is probably an air leak in the exhaust somewhere. On deceleration, it will suck in some cold air. Check the exhaust connections.

Yep, probably true. I noticed that the junction between the header and the tail pipe has no clamp and has a small crack lengthwise at the junction. Thanks for the heads up.
