GS1100L Exhaust Problem
Hi guys, I have an 82/83 GS1100L, it had exuturn silencers fitted and I found them way to loud, bike also ran rich backfiring etc. My mate had a noce pair of silencers from a Honda CX400 which I put on, Took bike for a run and at about 70mph it felt like it was struggling and overevving a bit, I can't recall it doing this with the Exuturn exhasuts on. Would the fact that the silencers were originally for a 400cc bike affect the way the GS is running, thinking it might be a bit strangled by exhaust? Any help much appreciated.Last edited by Guest; 09-11-2013, 04:18 PM.Tags: None

Exhausts
Hi, your bike can't exhale properly with those 400 pipes on it. Try and exhale your breathing through a straw. This is what is happening to your bike. The right size pipes for your bike will help, but be prepared for carb re- jetting if you can't find something close to stock pipes.1981 GS 1000GLX.
