When I try to start my bikes and there's a loud 'bang' it's usually because I've messed something up with the timing. I'm not sure if you bike was running fine before or not but if the bike is new to you I would check the timing. Just a thought.Rob

If not you'll need to. That or get a factory airbox. Many times these bikes wont even start(much like yours) if the intake system is altered or defective.
I did not rejet the carbs. I don't know what to which jets to replace and how to know the new ones are the right ones.

i did the full tear down, and reassembly with new gaskets, o-rings from cycleorings.com (who is amazing!!!), and I also put on a new Stator as recommended.
I can't get it to turn over. and it did a couple loud backfire's and that's it.
wtf?

Just keep in mind while you're messing around with it, it wont run worth(if at all) a crap if the carbs aren't tuned for your setup. Everything else can be perfect(I.E. petcock, plugs etc) but it still will not perform correctly.sigpic
