    Exhaust for a 1982 GS850GLZ

I'm thinking of replacing my badly blued V&H 4into1 exhaust with a new set, but I can't find one that will fit the 82 to 83 years. I can find them for 80 to 81 all day long, but nothing beyond that. Why is the 82 model different?

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

I think the mounting tabs at the back are just a bit different, but I don't have two Ls of different years to compare.

If you don't mind making a small adapter, it will probably work just fine.

If your system is in otherwise good condition, why not send it out to be ceramic coated?
Amost as good looking as chrome and won't discolor nearly as bad.
As an example, feast your eyes on this sea of ceramic coating.

Not a bad idea. I'll have to check into pricing and if there are any local shops in the Atlanta area that can do it.

It will be less tha the cost of a new header.

I have two headers I am going to have done. Just the headers, not the 'cans' on both of them. I have gotten a 'guesstimate' from the shop at about $175 for each one. I can live with that.
