The beast lives!!!! I am happy!

Thanks to steve who told me how to properly wire up the solenoid, it stopped catching on fire.I couldnt stand it that the starter button did nothing.I thought, surely he must have cut some wire some wire somewhere since i found so many other things wrong.Sure enough the yellow wire with green stripe by the clutch lever was undone. After much choking, grinding, and waiting it fired up.I let it run for about 5 minutes.gas is pouring out of the number one carb area, but i may have the fuel line poorly connected since I had taken the tank off.I have ordered rebuild kits, and orings from robert plus intake boot orings, a carb airbox and element is on the way, I am getting closer. But it runs!!!! hallelujah. Thanks Steve,so much.I only had 2 pods on, plus leaking gas, thus the rough running, plus sitting for 6 months doesnt help either.

Now that's real progress! I just hate it when motorcycles keep catching on fire.

No, seriously, congratulations. It's always a gas (manner of speaking) when you revive an aged machine. Good luck with the rest of it. Soon enough, it'll be a routine event to fire up the bike and ride.
and God said, "Let there be air compressors!"

In a few days I am off.I will be giving the bike much more attention than i do my wife.however she prefers it.The other day she left me a note.It says honey the recipe for your dinner is on page 32 of the recipe book, and the ingredients are at the store. So I named my bike Cathy after her.It only works when I flog it.
