    gs650gl from the grave

I have a gs650gl that I purchased for $100. It barely ran. I had a guy dip the carbs and try to put life in it. It has pods on the carbs but cheap ones. I saw a video with a guy that stated he could tell me what jets to buy without buying dynojets. Any info here? Just want a running bike.

Sure, lots of info on the site. Welcome.

    What year is your "L"?

What jets are in it now?

'83 GS550es (didn't like the colours in the 80's, but they've grown on me)

      Yeah, we have that.
Take you a few months to read it all, we definitely have info.

Life is too short to ride an L.

I would look for a airbox. the G and L models used the same setup. There is a foam filter inside which may need to be replaced. The airbox will work much better than pods.

The 650 will run remarkably well with this setup. The carbs are very well sized to the engine and despite being a little small the tuning is excellent. Don't ruin that with cheap pod filters.
