    VM carb screws

What size stainless Hex head screws do I need to order for the carb top & float bowl on a 1979 GS 1000?
    80 gs1100 16-v ported & polished, 1 mm oversize intake valves, 1150 carbs w/Dynojet stage 3, plus Bandit/gsxr upgrades

Looking at the parts fiche, I see that the float bowl screws have a part number of 02112-04168.

Looking right after the hyphen, I see that they are M4 x 16.

The top screws are also part number 02112-04168.

Most of the time, the bolt size is encoded in the part number.

      unfortunately, the fiche is wrong

the top screws are 12 mm long

      Order them from this guy

I wish he had those sets at that price for the CV carbs, too.

Here's the problem with that Ebay seller. The same problem with a lot of them that ship to Canada. He wants $20.00 shipping!!! I'll bet the real cost is around $5.00

            No way, man.

I really liked the ones I got from him also. Contact him and see if he can do better on the shipping.

And the last number..or numbers in some case is the thread pitch. 16 mm will work on the tops..just hang down a bit thats all.

Yeah, but the 12s are correct

When I ordered 2 of his sets and saw how long the top screws are, I fugured out what went wrong and emailed him. He sent me 24 -12 mm screws free - so i posted up my recommendation in the Buyers forum

My guess is that Steve has him setting up CV kits as we type

I just go to Fastenal and get the job boxes of the sizes I need. Can do 3 or 4 sets with the ( I think its ) 50 per box. Can get anything you want there,,,even colored screws, stainless...whatever. No dicking around and its done with what you know is what you need.
