    leaking float bowl

I've just cleaned out my carbs and re-fitted them to find a leak from no 4 float bowl. I always thought the fuel level never came up to the gasket. Can anyone confirm this and I'll then check out float level etc. Thanks

If you have CV carbs please check the carb rebuild tutorial linked in my signature. Best to verify fuel level, not just float height.

You're right - the float valve should ensure that the fuel level stays below the gasket so either the float is sticking, float height is incorrect or the valve and / or seat is worn.
