    Gs1150ef exhaust

1984 GS1150EF, I'm running a Yosh 4-1 header and one of the exh bolts fell out somewhere between 160 and 210 the other day.
The previous owner, or owners, installed a standard not metric thread bolt and buggered the threads. We're going to retap and repair/inspect all the holes as a precaution.
My question is, when reassembling, do we install new gaskets/rings or leave them out. There are none installed now, (checked the other cyl's). I never noticed any exhaust leaks up to now, and I'm getting conflicting info on whether they should be used or not.

I'm assuming that you're referring to the crush gaskets in the exhust port. Once squashed they can be easy to miss. I once changed an exhaust and left the originsls, without leaks, but last time I had the header off for repair, I replaced them. They are inexpensive. Personally I would install new ones.

When consulting the magic 8 ball for advice, one must first ask it "will your answers be accurate?"
