Only things I wouldn't disassemble are the slides. Pull them out and leave the needles alone. Dip them complete. Everything else comes off.

I don't dip em at all. Just clean em with carb cleaner and a rag.

I'd recommend a carb dip. I recently took part my carbs for the first time since owning this bike. I completely took every possible thing apart, and replaced every oring (from cycleorings.com ). The carb dip I used was:
"Berryman Chem-Dip Carburetor and Parts Cleaner"
              I got it from pepboys.

I dont dip slides either, as Todd said. Some carb spray in 000 grade steel wool has them spiffy in seconds. Sometimes they are a little stained that wont come out but as long as they are clean you are all good.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
