If your needles don't stop flow replace them. You already have a gravity feed fuel tap , it just uses vacuum to open and close it so that it does not flood past the needles in the carbs while sitting. Even on the old bikes you had to turn the fuel on and off manually or you would have the same problems. All that the vacuum fuel tap does is make it easier for you , as in you don't have to remember to turn the fuel off.1984 GS1100GK newest addition to the heard

If it isn't going to make it faster or safer it isn't worth doing

Not what you want to do, but proof that they do stop the flow if properly maintained.

I really don't see the attraction to these bikes, I just seen a really nice all original GS550l about same year as mine listed on CL for $2500 it sold but not sure for actual selling price. A Honda of that quality would go for 10 grand.

Pretty much been a troll since you arrived too. Do yourself a favor and sell those poor GS's to someone who cares about them and buy an over priced Honda. Everyone will then be HAPPY!http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg
