    86 gs550california emissions hoses

    Hey guys when i got my 86 gs550 all hoses were missing except the one for fuel supply and the one for petcock vacume,can i just plug them ?This the california model,i d/l a service manual but it's usless shows nothing about the ca model,can anyone draw me a diagram of where the hoses connect or help me in any way PLEASE THANKS IN ADVANCE

      The two hoses that feed the carbs atmospheric pressure should be replaced.
      Basically those hoses allow the supply of air to be introduced from up under the seat free of windage and the varying vacuum that it would \ does produce.

      The other spaghetti can go though.

        I was just gonna run a piece of hose between those now i know to leave them open or just replace the hoses and run em under the seat glad i checked this post again

          I noticed with my 1150 carbs when I blocked off the charcoal canister hoses that I had to go up one size on the pilot air jet. Example: 120 CA stock to a 125. These are the jets on the filter side of carbs on the outside edge of the throat.
          I could not get a nice idle until I did so.
          1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
          1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
