Some situations are different but have not found much on this. If it is reasonably feasible, not too pricey, and reliable??

Microsquirt from Bogoflex can be had for under $400, then you just need a couple sensors, injectors, fuel rail and the manifold and throttle body(s) to finish things off.
It is something that I am considering for a future modification on my bike. Stage 3 carbs are nice, but I have injectors that can safely fuel over 200 HP sitting next to the TB from a 2 litre Audi I junked a few years ago. I've done Megasquirt on cars and it was relatively painless, I assume the technical bits are similar enough for motorcycle applications.
Assuming you can sort out the manifold and fuel rail issues, and that the cost of the rest of the system isn't a budget-breaker, I think that FI would be a more reliable method of making the bike start quicker under all conditions and you can definitely get better fuel economy out of an electronically controlled fueling system compared to the old mechanical flow method our bikes came with.

I've done a few FI conversions in the past. I even have a turbo 240Z using a Haltech E6K programmable computer at the house. It's very doable, reliable and can yield better performance, but be ready for a huge learning curve when it comes time to tune it. A wideband O2 meter is pretty much required equipment. I built my own O2 meter from a kit imported from Oz. Worked pretty well and ended up putting down 386HP and 402ft/lbs of torque from a 1982 2.8L engine.
Now the thought of a FI turbo 1150 sure would make my heart beat faster.Last edited by JTGS850GL; 11-07-2013, 07:56 PM.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

A fairly typical first shot at 'squirting in that thread, especially the frustration level and chasing a rabbit down a hole.
