thinking about buying a decent set of carbs for my GS

fancy some smoothbores but not sure what to get. any body have any pro's and cons between Mikuni or Keihin?

also has anyone had any experience with this ebay seller?......

not sure if is a genuine expert or just a guy out to make a quick buck, but he does seem to have a good selection of performance carbs. (see his other items for sale)

OR, has anybody here got a decent set they would like to sell me for a reasonable price?

If you want roundslides, there's not much to choose between CR's and smoothbores for road use. Condition is everything if secondhand. Smoothbores you'll only have the choice of 29 or 33mm. Until recently I'd have said 33 was too big for a street 1000 but they're working very well on a customer bike.

Flatslides, again nothing to choose, depends on what the service is like local to you for jet availability etc. I've worked with both RS's and FCR's and both can be made to work very, very well.

Depends ultimately on what sort of a deal you can finagle...

You just want to impress people with the rattling slides at idle....isn't the bling already there enough ?

Oh, All Blacks to beat England tonight too....

not after the bling, just the best performance for the buck.
