Mysterious part in 1980 GS850 carburetor

Can anybody help me determine what the brass tubes are in the picture? As you can see there is a small cap with a pin sized hole in it and the other carb doesn't have the cap. I need to know what this tube is called and how I may find a way to fix the one that doesn't have the cap on it.

Choke ( starter circuit ) pick up tube. The little cap with the hole is to prevent larger chuck getting sucked up. It will still work without the end caps. But be damned sure the system is clean and junk wont migrate to the carbs!!!

Look at the bottom of the bowls the tube sticks into. theres a small hole there for fuel to get into the tube so the pickup can sip on it. Must be sure that is all clean and open too.

There's also a blockoff plug missing in the middle carb that should be there.

Thank you both for the reply. Very helpful. I have the blockoff plug. It popped out the other day. I plan on putting it back in once I start the carb rebuild.

Good eye. Can be made out of some aluminum stock. Usually the gasket held it in place..and I have also seen a rubber flat washer installed directly above it to add pressure once the bowls are cranked down.
