Didnt find anything in search. Will gsxr headers fit an 1100e? Are we stuck with vance and hines? Mac? Is custom the only route?

Jim (posplayr) has made some fit. Ask him what he did to do so.
If I remember correctly the headers fit into the head but the clearance with the frame was a problem.1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.

The closest fit is to find a 1986-1988 GSXR 1100 header. The 1989-1992 will also fit but hang a little lower and run close to the frame cross member just below the exhaust posts. With spikots you can get adequate clearance without frame modification. All need custom mid pipes.
If you are good you can probably even get a Titanium header to work off of a later model liter GSXR..Last edited by posplayr; 11-29-2013, 09:12 PM.Comment
