    I can paint it any colour under the rainbow but it's still going to be pitted. I'll just take it from the replies that it can't be fixed. I'll look for a replacement.
    80 gs1100 16-v ported & polished, 1 mm oversize intake valves, 1150 carbs w/Dynojet stage 3, plus Bandit/gsxr upgrades

      Cant the base metal be filled with something like JB weld or another high temp filler, sanded, and then painted???

        Yes it could but I wanted some other options besides paint.

          I hear you.....maybe dechrome ( or other plating ) using the muratic acid thing then sand any imperfections and replate?? See this thread. Ive never personally done this, but I posted a method I had found...post 8.

          I am facing a similar quandry on an old Kerker can..see that thread for the pics. Its rough!!!

            I would complain to the plaster. It looks just like chrome but then newly plated stuff would.
