    Carb vent hose leaking gas

What causes this? I am trying to diagnose my fuel delivery problem and when I went to prime the bowls the gas was coming out of the vent hose on the #1 side. It only leaks on prime.

The carb bowl is full, the float valve doesn't seal well, so it overflows. It's also leaking fuel into the cylinders and crankcase. Your oil is most likely fuel contaminated.

When you go to prime you are taking the vacuum stopper on the pet cock out of the system and let fuel flow regardless of the engine running. If your pet cock is working properly it only flows fuel when there is a vacuum on it. Thats the small hose that attaches to the middle nipple on the engine side of pet cock and your #2 carb. Your floats are not sealing as dantheman said or you might have a float that is fuel soaked and not floating anymore or they could be out of adjustment.
