    Best Price?

Looking for new Floats, needle and seat for an 81 gs850L, best price ive found is ebay. anyone else have a better source? Oh and those rubber plugs that go over the jet in the bottom of the carb.

Z1 Enterprises (http://www.z1enterprises.com/) should have most of what you're after. Except I don't recall seeing needle seats there. I found a carb rebuild kit for BS34 series carbs that contains needles, seats, and plugs: http://www.mikesxs.net/product/48-1408.html I don't know for sure if they are compatible with BS32 carbs, but there's a good chance they are. Needles and seats are available OEM, but it would set you back well over a c-note for all four.

I seem to remember another vendor that carried a wide selection of aftermarket BS32 parts, but I can find it in my notes anywhere. Maybe someone else can clue me in.

      Try Parts-n-More.

It's all aftermarket stuff, but I have never had any problems with stuff from them.

Why do you need floats? I have never seen bad floats in a set of 850 carbs.

Well i went to Sync them yesterday and now that the carbs where being gravity fed and not vacuum for the tank I noticed gas coming out of the over flow. I took the bowls of the two that were leaking and where is a huge chuck missing on one side of one float. From there i weighted all of the floats and they range anywhere from 125.4 grams to the the heaviest one at 148.3 grams. Plus three of the four needles didnt seem to be seating well.

              All 850's are G If yours is an L then that makes it a GS850GL. If it's an 81 model then it's a GS850GLX. My 82 model is a GS850GLZ.

Howsabout some history on the bike?

                Have you cleaned the carbs?

From what I gather from your post someone has converted the petcock(fuel valve) to gavity feed, correct? If so you might be advised to somehow clamp off/turn off flow of fuel. If not the carbs will leak.

No the petcock hasnt been converted. Like I said this was while I was syncing the carbs, so the tank was off and I was running a funnel I.V. drip for my fuel source and that is why it is gravity feed. I cleaned the carbs when i first got the bike about 6 weeks ago to get it running. Now that its running I decided to sync them. After the started to leak on me is when I decided to take them apart again.

Not sure how to tell you this, but gas is never vacuumed out of the tank, it is ALWAYS gravity-fed.

The vacuum is only applied to the petcock to turn it on.

                      Yes, you have BS32SS carbs.

Others have already chimed in about the lettering. For some reason, Suzuki did not put a "G" on any of the "GL" bikes, only the "L".

Question: how high was your feed? If it was higher than the stock fuel tank level, you will have more pressure at the carbs, which could easily overwhelm the float valves, even if they are working perfectly.

Did you do the full "strip-and-dip" cleaning, along with replacing all the o-rings? If you didn't, any further suggestions are useless.

I understand how the petcock works, just letting the other guy know that the petcock wasn't converted.

My fuel feed was replicated like Cliff's Image on his walk-through

And yes full strip down and O-rings Replaced, once again used Cliffs walk-through step-by-step

Still not telling us how high you hung it.

                          It matters.

By float valves, he means the needle and seat. And he means they could leak if the top level of the fuel in your temp tank was higher than the top level of your fuel tank.

Its hung like in Cliffs Picture, handle bar Height or so. But I know my needles aren't seating very well because I have since tested them having the carbs apart.
