VM Carb hex screw/airbox boots replacements

It's winter for me again, so there's a ton of downtime from my GS. I'm setting up a list of things I need to work on and parts to buy before spring comes.

I need to rebuild/clean my carbs again (I didn't that great of a job last time) and one thing I wanted to do was try to replace the top and bottom screws with hex screws.

I thought I saw somewhere on here what I needed but I cant find it anywhere now. So does anybody know what size of screws I need to replace the original ones? I would check my GS but it is in my parents garage about ten miles from here.

My GS is a 1979 GS750L and it has VM carbs, if that info will help much.

    BONUS QUESTION:
While on the topic, does anybody know which store/individual might sell cheaper new airbox boots? cycleorings.com is a great resource but I wouldn't have found it by doing a simple Google search, so I don't think I could have found a place like it that'll sell the boots cheaply.

You're better off to get OEM boots in my opinion from the dealer; yes they are expensive but will last you. If you look at the parts fiche on most any Suzuki dealership website (use Alpha Sports or Boulevard as some like Bike Bandit don't use Suzuki's numbers though) for the carbs, you'll see the part number for the screws. The latter half of the number tells you the size you need:

    02112-0316B - is an M3 x 16mm long

You can find most of what you are looking for at your local hardware store, if they sell metric screws, or places like Z1 Enterprises, Fastenal, etc

No they aren't Tom, I was trying to give him an example behind how to read the part number.

Thanks for the info, I'll probably be collecting the necessary screws from the local hardware store around the time I do the rebuild.

I was looking at Z-1 Enterprises the other day and noticed they sold what they called air box hoses (carb to air box) for several older model GS'S and were like $46.39 and $45.64 for a set of 4. See if your model is listed http://www.z1enterprises.com/ListIte...Suzuki+O-Rings Lowes has a good assortment of screws also including hex type. And even stainless if wanted.

These fit GS (77-79) and GS850 (79) O.E.M. #13728-45010 hopefully this might help save a few bucks. They also offer the small metal rings that go inside them to retain them into the box. I still like the rubber velocity stacks gotta help throttle response on any thing. At least my theory lolol.
