GS750L will not start - help

After cleaning and rebuilding the carbs, new plugs , fresh gas , new battery when I try to start the engine, it seems to want to start but doesn't catch. It will start briefly when you spray carb spray directly into the back air filter.

What do you think the problem is?

    Did you prime the carburetors?

    What year is your 750?

Yes what he said..PRI is the setting to prime the carbs. This must be done if the bowls are completely dry or it will act as you described.

Also, just use choke and DO NOT twist the throttle as your trying to start it. And be sure the vacuum is hooked up to the small nipple on the petcock and to the vacuum port on the number 3 carb..small bras nipple on the upper l;eft side of the carb.

We have done everything that was mentioned above, but it is still not firing.
Do you think the clutch cable is a problem.

Cluth cable has nothing to do with anything.

          Fuel.

          Spark.

          Compression.

Since you say it fires with carb spray, the problem is a lack of fuel.

Again, what year is your 750?

            I would be very surprised.

Have you tried valve adjustment? Did your carb work include new O rings and boots?

If it tries to start when you spray the filter it's a carb problem. What year is your bike and where are you?
