I have seen in the past, where a fuel system from petcock via in line filter via bowls has gotten debris. When I saw this, I was amazed as I thought for sure that two filters would stop anything. But I had very small deposits of rusty like looking powder granules in bottom of bowls. Very small amounts mind you...but contamination in my eyes when I observed it. Ever since I dont rely on the filters to stop everything....just most of it. But, I always will put one on if there isn't one! ( A inline filter)

I have had a bike with the petcock filter intact and an inline filter, mostly quit running on one cylinder. Don't understand it, but it got a piece of wood the size of a toothpick tip lodged in the needle valve. Don't know how it got there, possibly came in the float bowl vent and floated around until somehow it went up stream into the needle valve?

It still makes no sense to me but it happened.
