Air box GS1000
Hi guys, I'm looking to build a skunk GS1000, however the engine I have sourced is a CV carb model one, I would like to put an early ribbed airbox on it, will this fit the larger diameter carbs? Many thanksTags: None

The carb to air box hoses are a different diameter but the good news is the later hoses are available and you could mod the air box so they fitted. It is doable as my VM model came with a CV air box on it and the PO fitted some plastic as a spacer bodge.79 GS1000S

If your 1000 airbox is for a CV-carbed bike, hopefully it's at least a 1000En (or S).
The 1000G box is completely different and will not fit.

I'm not sure, but I think all the air boxes are the same (except the G) I drilled the rivets off holding the chrome covers and underneath was the ribbed plastic.sigpic
Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.
