    Drilling Jets for evaluation

Anyone here drill out their own jets? I was thinking on going up a size or max, 2 on a spare set of jets and thought I'd drill my own. I have access to a full machine shop so it wont be done with pliers and a cordless drill.

Why not just spend a few dollars on new jets and save yourself (and any future owners) a bunch of aggravation?

Nothing like drilling your 115 jets out to 125, then selling the bike. The new owner would like to raise the jetting a bit, so he sees "115" on the jets and orders 120s and wonders why his engine burned up.

They may not be OEM Mikunis, but the jets available at Z1 are just $1.75 each.

+1 for the jets from Z1. I'm running them in my bike.
I'm a machinist too, but as cheap as those are from Z1 I'd just order a bunch and not have to worry about pulling out the pin gages every time you need to adjust the carburetor.

I hear what your saying Steve, and at a couple of bucks each, that's too cheap to resist. Looking at 6 bucks a piece from other sites, trying a bunch gets spensive... thanks again..

Same here. That way YOU know to check them as they are modified.

Well, that is a great idea, but not everybody (hardly anybody? ) has the tools to determine what is in there, so we willingly spend a few bucks for jets with numbers on them.
