    fuel bowl drain screws

First tear down hurdle of my 1978 GS750E.

The PO really stripped one of the fuel bowl drain screws on the Mikuni VM carbs. My wrenching didn't help either.

I've sprayed lots of PB Blaster and it's soaking right now.

Any suggestions to get this booger out?

    Any recommendations for replacements?

    Thanks!

What hapens is big blobs of rust build up on the threads. When you remove the screws it tears out the threads. I have a bunch of float bowls if you need one.

      yum, blobs of rust.

I may take you up on a float bowl. I'll try again tonight and see what happens. Thx!

i've had great success removing stubborn screws and bolts with a heat gun. of course, don't have a bunch of gassy parts around.
